A global entrepreneur with active interests in real estate, retail, luxury hospitality, banking, mining and commodities, Mr. Mohamed Alabbar is the Founder Chairman of Emaar Properties, the leading developer of iconic assets.

He is also a Board Member of Eagle Hills, a private investment and real estate development company, and Founding Partner of Capital City Partners Limited, a private real estate investment fund.

Mr. Alabbar is the Chairman of Tradewinds Corporation, a premier leisure and hospitality owner operator in Malaysia. He is the founder and major shareholder of RSH, the Singapore-based pan-Asian marketer, distributor and retailer of international fashion brands.

A member of the Dubai World Expo 2020 Higher Committee, Mr. Alabbar was the founding Director General of Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED) and served as a member of the Dubai Executive Council and Dubai Economic Council. He has also served as Vice Chairman of Dubai Aluminium Company (DUBAL) and as Executive Chairman of the Dubai World Trade Centre.

The founder and chairman of Dubai Financial Market, Mr. Alabbar has served as Director on the Board of the Emirates Stock Exchange Authority, Dubai Chamber of Commerce and National Bank of Dubai (now EmiratesNBD). He was Chairman of Amlak Finance Company and Dubai Cable Company.

Mr. Alabbar graduated in Finance and Business Administration from the Seattle University in the US, where he holds an Honorary Doctorate and serves on the Board of Trustees. He is an active member of the UAE’s endurance horse racing community and was the Chairman of the UAE Golf Association.

Ranked second in the list of the ‘World’s 100 Most Powerful Arabs – Leaders’ 2014 by Arabian Business, Mr. Alabbar was honoured by Arab Bankers Association of North America (ABANA) with the Achievement Award in 2012.
