Ahmed Bin Sulayem is the Executive Chairman of DMCC.

Joining on its inception, Mr Bin Sulayem has driven the growth of DMCC from a start-up of 28 member companies in 2003 to the world’s leading free zone in 2018 with over 15,000 member companies from 170 countries, employing over 60,000 people. In 2017, DMCC was named the ‘Global Free Zone of the Year’ by The Financial Times fDi Magazine, for a record third consecutive year.
Tasked with enhancing commodity trade flows through Dubai, DMCC has introduced to market of a number of value-added products and services under Mr Bin Sulayem’s leadership including;  Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange (DGCX) – a world-class derivatives exchange); Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE), the only diamond exchange in the Arab World affiliated to the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB); DMCC Tea Centre – a state-of-the-art facility that combines warehousing, blending and packaging services; and DMCC Tradeflow (a central registry of ownership for commodities stored in Dubai stimulating commodity trade by offering enforceable collateral based trade finance solutions.
Mr. Bin Sulayem has also been central to the development of the DMCC Coffee Centre, which is due to open in late 2018, and will offer advanced infrastructure and services for green bean storage, processing and delivery of coffee to precise specifications.
Mr Bin Sulayem oversaw the exponential growth of the DMCC Free Zone master development in Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT), a 200-hectare business and residential community in Dubai of over 100,000 people living and working across 68 towers, including Almas Tower, the tallest commercial tower in the region. Mr Bin Sulayem also oversees the development of DMCC’s latest real estate project, the much-anticipated Uptown Dubai district.

Mr Bin Sulayem currently serves as the Chairman of the Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE) and the Dubai Gold & Commodities Exchange (DGCX). The Kimberley Process officially appointed the UAE as the first and only Arab country to Chair the Kimberley Process in November 2015. The UAE Ministry of Economy officially appointed Ahmed Bin Sulayem as the UAE’s Chair of the Kimberley Process for 2016.
